Author Notes
Author note:
'The world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers; Little we see in Nature that is ours; We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!'

The above words are from a sonnet by the English Romantic poet William Wordsworth, 'The World Is Too Much with Us'. In it, Wordsworth criticises the world of the First Industrial Revolution for being absorbed in materialism and distancing itself from nature. It was composed circa 1802, but the words resonate today, with warfare caused by greed and power-mongering, nature being ravaged mercilessly, the extreme weather effects of climate change -- in fact, extremism of all varieties causing harm in our lives.
