Why is truth less desirable than fiction?
On Being Disqualified by LisaMay
50 Word Story writing prompt entry

The writer was disappointed. She’d just received notification her entry in a 75-word ‘flash fiction’ contest had been disqualified because it was a true story. If only she hadn’t said so in the author’s notes. Most stories are based on actual happenings. She should have pretended it was made up.

Writing Prompt
Write a story of 50 words. not including the title. Any subject accepted. Must be exactly 50 words.

Author Notes
Author note:
(50 words according to wordcounter.net and hand counted, where '75-word' is seen as one word.)
I've seen plenty of 'flash fiction' stories (probably most of them) that are obviously true stories that happened to someone. My crime that deserved disqualification was that I said it was a true story in an author's note. How stupid of me to not be aware truth should be falsified.
