Springtime Show by Boogienights
Monorhyme writing prompt entry

It's chilly and I feel a cold wind blow,
and all around there's patches still, of snow.
But spring is here, the calendar says so,
the landscape soon will change, as we all know.

Then mother nature will put on a show,
as trees will green and flowers start to grow.
The lakes will shed their ice, rivers will flow,
soon, fishermen appear with boats in tow...

Just hoping for a big catch they can show,
proud of their skill, their faces all aglow.
While those who doubted them will soon eat crow,
those with no fish to fry, are feeling low.

Excited gardeners will start to hoe,
vegetable seeds they'll plant all in a row.
The lilac bushes bloom, the roses grow,
beautiful scents and colors they bestow.

When I think back on springs from years ago,
then Easter memories begin to flow.
Mom made me put a dress on even though,
I was a sort of tomboy, dontcha know!

The sun shines brightly on the earth below,
as gentle breezes sway trees to and fro.
Is there a better season that you know,
to calm a weary soul, to make hearts glow?
