A frisky fear of ones and threes is Triskaidekaphobia, a tricksy prime example of us overthinking shivers. But as we scavenge dignity to face another fateful day, we scream in Friday's heinous face - in Greek, say Paraskevi. So for the great connecting of these fears, I find myself iambically contained. Pentameter can almost stretch to hold: Paraskevidekatriaphobia Writing Prompt Write a 12 line Free Verse incorporating Friday the 13th No mention of the movie/characters by same name This isn't a spiritual poem--no mention of Heaven/God/Jesus Keep it clean/Make it fun to read No rhyme pattern though scattered/internal rhymes ok Friday the 13th Contest Winner Author Notes As is hopefully obvious from the poem, Paraskevidekatriaphobia is an irrational fear or hatred of Friday the 13th...
