This is a sandwich I made up one day,
And it was so yummy I just have to say
I hope you will try it; don’t leave out a thing;
It will make you sigh, and… it will make you sing!
I hope the ingredients don’t have to rhyme,
‘Cause I cannot do it, and, look at the time!
It’s late and I think that my bed’s calling me
But this is a T-Whistlin’, good recipe!
Super Sandwich
Two slices 12 grain bread (or bread of your choice)
3 Swiss cheese slices,
Bunch of fresh spinach, stems off
Fairly thin slices of Gala apple.
Hellmann’s Mayo
Slather mayo on both pieces of bread. Put a slice of Swiss cheese and ½ of 3rd slice (to fill out space) on each “mayo’d” piece of bread.
Add bunch of fresh spinach
Then add apple slices
Top with other slice of bread that also has cheese
In buttered pan, over med to med-high heat, mash sandwich with spatula, about a minute – turn to brown other side, CAREFULLY, so don’t lose “innards”, adding more butter. When both sides of bread are brown and cheese is melted, remove from skillet, put on plate and cut in half.
Take a bite, and you have gone to heaven.
