Farewell to a Pet by tempeste
Rhyming Alliteration writing prompt entry

when death claimed my poor pet Blair
I cut off long lock of hair

placed it between criss-cross paws
then left tasty treats near jaws

retrieved bunch of fluffy fur
heavy heart misses his purrs

furry friend is in my prayers

Author Notes
I take fur and whiskers as mementos and I wrap my beloved pet in a soft blanket together with a lock of my hair, treats, his favourite toy and on top, I place a red rose before closing the grave ..I always choose a shady place under a tree in my garden for their final test.
