I loved those priceless springtime days
spent with a friend unseen so long.
We'd walk along a stream a ways,
delighted by its joyous song.
And in a meadow laced with flowers
we'd sit beneath an apple tree,
relax, forget our cares for hours,
so happy with good company.
White blossoms of the orchard's trees
burst forth above, perfumed the air.
Some fluttered gayly in the breeze
before they settled on our hair.
Behind thin clouds the sun oft hid
and seldom showed his handsome face.
On rare occasions when he did,
New Camelot we called this place.
A springtime get-together was
a chance to chat, renew our ties
with Nature's realm, give her applause.
We'd celebrate with laughter, sighs.
