An Age Old Problem by Debi Pick Marquette
What Think You of Aging writing prompt entry

I have an age old problem; I don't face reality
If I want to keep my joy, that's how it's going to be

Getting old is something that my grandparents once did
My grandbabes always tell me that I act just like a kid

I don't think past where I am, at any given time
I shouldn't think of aging, while I still feel in my prime

I've always been the type to run away from things l dread
If I get old, I'll stay in bed and I may wake up dead

I choose to stay away from things that give me extra stress
My head is buried in the sand; to that I must confess

While living here In Neverland, I do procrastinate
I'm thankful for my life, which Lord, I so appreciate

I've heard someday they'll take the old, before their time is due
It's legal to kill babies, why wouldn't they take them too?

Talking about aging is enough to cause a stroke
Medicare, stop treating me like I'm soon gonna croak

I think I'm overthinking, to the future I won't trudge
So I won't think of it again, and I'm not going to budge
