Loss of daylight gets to me
and Winter brings me down
Six months of this; I worry
about a lasting Winter's frown
By February's end, my dad
would always start the grill
Not this year, because we had
four feet of snow here still
Then about the month of March
when hope is in the air
We change our clocks, it gives a boost
like freedom from despair
First day of spring is awesome
But a warm day would be sweet
Let's stop griping 'bout the cold
and complain about the heat
We get a nice day here and there
then comes a couple blizzards
I'm ready then to pack it up
and go live with the lizards
Now it's almost April
time to close that Winter door
April Fool's Day snowstorm
isn't funny anymore
Winter lasts here all Spring long
yet every year I rush
it's hard to plant your flowers
while standing in the slush
It's time my winter fat is gone
To show off my Spring roll
In shade I have the Winter blues
Spring sunshine in my soul
Now it's May, our weatherman
forecasts some more snowfalls
Spring, kick that old Jack Frost
right in his cold snowballs
