The program had reached its terminus. Today would mark the end of the race. Desi was made to handle this task. Opening the compartment just below Doctor Stance’s repose, Desi removed the document which had been prepared for this moment.  A pressure-sensitive corner, once engaged, revealed texts which could be enunciated. Engaging voice projection, Desi read the words: I, Dr. Circ M. Stance, leave all that is left on Earth to the sensient life created to carry the world’s productivity into whatever future awaits them.    Finishing, Desi Stance touched his father’s brow, ending the man’s life, and the human race.        Writing Prompt Write a story of 100 words.
