Raindrops pitter-pattered

on our umbrella

and where you held me tight

I burned with desire.

We walked on the moon and stars

through the wet elm promenade;

I tucked the memory deep inside

the treasure trove of my mind.

At home, outside our window

rain drizzled through the night

and outside the cool breeze billowed

as our passion’s waves surged and swelled.

Author Notes
FREE VERSE is an open form of poetry, which in its modern form arose through the French vers libre form. It does not use consistent meter patterns, rhyme, or any musical pattern. It thus tends to follow the rhythm of natural speech.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and review my poem.
