She was feeling very sad and blue
For there was nothing she could do,
No thoughts at all, no insight –
Her writing was not going right.
***
Then she thought “Perhaps a drink
Will give me strength, help me to think!”
So, in her kitchen with downcast emotion,
She prepared herself a little potion.
***
It took time, but she kept going strong,
Hoping that nothing would go wrong.
She’d never tried this drink before,
And wondered what might be in store!
***
She found herself an easy chair,
Sat down to relax, tried not to care.
The jug was there right at her side,
Her favourite glass on the table beside.
***
She poured herself a little drink,
And – almost before she could even blink,
She had some thoughts that she could write -
Grabbed paper and pen with great delight!
***
She furiously wrote for more than hour -
It was a long time since she’d felt such power!
Now what was in this amazing drink?
Can you guess? What do you think?
***
She called it “Creative Juices: flow and go!”
She drank it all! But you must know
She won’t tell you her little secret
For the recipe’s hers – and she’s going to keep it!
