I am very far from perfect
For I have a major defect
Only one? Oh no, there’s plenty
Maybe even up to twenty!

Now, firstly, I’m not great at rhyme
For it eludes me half the time
There's also my old foe called “Metre”
Who just resolves to “Always beat her!”

Then there’s rhythm, and also flow …
My words go where they WANT to go!
Some also think that I can’t spell,
But yes I can, and very well,

But I am from another place -
So, thanks to all who show me grace!
I see my mind has gone off track,
So thoughts and words I must wind back

To this topic I had to choose
Knowing full well that I would lose!
I can’t list all my problems here
In front of all my friends so dear!

Yes, that’s the harsh reality.
