sweet little one, your day is done,
the night is drawing near.
crawl in my lap, begin your nap,
I'll rock away your fear.

both to and fro, our swaying goes,
relaxing all your cares.
while in your grasp, two toys you clasp,
your fav'rite teddy bears.

through waning light, we cuddle tight,
as Sandman sprinkles you
with fairy dust, your fretting's hushed
your eyes have closed half too.

you sail to sleep, on shadows deep,
through lilac tinted skies,
then as you rest, upon my breast,
I'll whisper lullabies.
