Purple, colour of mommy’s tumefied face

White, colour of the knuckles that struck

Red, colour of Mom’s courage to stand up

Green, colour of her hope for a better tomorrow

Blue, colour of her freedom from abuse



Writing Prompt
Write a poem which incorporates at least two colors. The idea is to use colors to infer meaning. Poem may be rhyming or not.

Domestic abuse has a devastating effect on children, the silent witnesses of a rampant tragedy. Domestic violence, in all its forms, must be fought and denounced
