![]() I stood backstage, my heart pounding. Why did I ever decide to audition for the school play? My name was called. My hands tingled, sweat oozing under my arms. I fearfully walked out onto the stage; eight staring eyes confronted me. My eyes clouded; my throat was being strangled. I was frozen in time. The lovely girl playing Juliet touched my hand, smiled and said, “It’s okay.” I forgot about my nerves. I took a breath, and spoke my line to her while she held my hand: “My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth.” I got the part.
