Hi and welcome to FanStory.

I've been on this site for 10 years. It's been one of the most important life experiences I've ever enjoyed. While here, I've learned, helped others learn, and grown as a writer and human.

My first practical lessons were to separate my paragraphs with an extra line, keep my paragraphs short, and to never, ever assume someone wants to look up my vague references on the internet. That's what the Author's Notes are for.

Another bit of advice I can give you comes from the heart. I'm a full time high school science teacher, farmer's wife, and caretaker of a toddler and elderly mother-in-law. I'm also 64 years old. No problem! I've got plenty of time and energy...not! But, like you, I do what I do because it's a driving force in my life, and because this site is a good place to do it.

The people on this site can be your best friends, or just casual acquaintances. All are important, and all shape us into the writers we know we are inside.

Good writers are born, great writers have to work for it, and that's what we are here to help you do.
