With this subject, there's lots to say,
there is much I will discourse.
I'll try my best to keep it short,
will this offend some? Yes, of course!
I have a lot to say on this,
many, though, will disagree.
But take a moment, hear me out,
if you do, then you will see.
Donating organs is a choice,
but, I think, it shouldn't be.
So many more lives could be saved,
if hands, now tied, were set free.
Religious reasons come in play,
many will not see it through.
If harvesting can save a life,
God, I think, would want us to.
Mandatory, it ought to be,
thousands dying, sadly wait.
Before their time, people will die
that could be saved, no debate.
I think the doctors should just take
organs, when death is declared,
then transplant them to those in need,
the gift of life, should be shared.
Seventeen people die each day,
waiting for what will NOT come.
One hundred thousand on a list,
certain death, assured for some.
It's devastating when we lose
those we love so suddenly.
Decisions made under such stress,
aren't the best, we often see.
Let's make a law and see it through,
take organs for those in need.
A chance to prolong someone's life
is the right thing to do, indeed.
