I have always considered myself a believer, yet at times it is hard to believe.

I hear the words speaking to me, yet at times they are hard to receive.

You have always been a hero in my eyes, I have never doubted you in the least.

There was no mountain you could not move, you have always been the man, the myth, a beast.

One phone call in the middle of the night, these words have shook me to my core.

There must be a mistake because this cannot be true, they repeat the words once more.

I have always seen you as unbreakable, but you lay in the bed before me, broken.

You are conscious and cannot speak to me, all you leave me with is a small token.

I am looking at you through the glass that separates us, the tubes are making it hard for me to see.

You have always been my protector and teacher, now you are so fragile how can it be?

I have always considered myself a believer, but this right here is too hard to believe.

My eyes are wide open, and I see you, this is not happening because it is too hard to perceive.

There must be a way to mend your broken body, I fall to my knees and burst into prayer.

I need a miracle for I fear I will lose him, angels come willingly to help restore and repair.

If ever there was a question about my belief, I beg now for blessings and faith.

There is no one more selfless and giving than the man before me, please keep him safe.

I remain in the same position on the floor, reciting the same prayer repeatedly.

My thoughts are clear,  I can recite them carefully and strategically.

I cannot lose you now because you are all I have, hang in there not giving up now.

I call upon all angels and saints, giving it my all with every breath I  solemnly vow.

I have always considered myself a believer, I have faith in all you do because I believe.

I hear the words and see the miracles unfold, all my burdens and sorrows have been relieved.

My brother has returned to me once more. Faith is restored now and forever.

Author Notes
This is a poem about being a believer who is afraid to step out on faith until you need it the most.
