Mistaken Identity by BethShelby

Hey, girl, what are you doing here? I didn’t expect to see you in this neck of the woods.

Oh hi! It is good to see you. It was just a quick trip my boss sent me on for work.

I’m eating alone too. Let’s get a table and catch up.

Sounds good. Let’s do it.

Oh, shit, thought Paige. I don’t know anyone in this city. I haven’t a clue who she is. I’ll have to fake it.

I want you to know, it broke my heart when you and my brother got a divorce. I miss having you as a sister-in-law.

You must be mistaken. I’ve never been married.

Aren’t you Elaine Davis?

No, I’m Paige Prince.

You sure look like her, but I do have trouble recognizing faces. Apparently, you do as well. So shall we eat together anyway? It seems we do have something in common.

Author Notes
I had something similar happen me once. When someone acts like they know me, I assume they do because I have trouble recognizing faces I've not seen for a while. There is a condition called prosopagnosia that is about face blindness.
