Wisdom : Love your life by Iza Deleanu Dear God contest entry |
Dear GOD,Today, I will share some of my thoughts regarding the privilege of my existence and how profanely I explain my life and the lives of humans in general. This is what I've learned:Love your life exactly as it is because even the hard times are part of our spiritual growth. If life were a linear succession of happy events, how would we appreciate it? How would it know this is wonderful if no comparison event balances it? I know me! Probably, I will get bored of always riding a happy wave, and pretty soon, I will start mumbling, "What the heck? There is too much sun in my life, and maybe I want to get a drink and sip my sorrows from time to time and be my old self, the complainer on the one hand and the optimist on the other end."Mostly, if we are in a happy mood, we will forget about you, my dear God, and we will let go of being humble, and is when we will put our lives and others in danger. When you are constantly happy, you feel like you are the King of the world and everything under the sun and moon belongs to you… and you get a sense of entitlement.Another danger will be that we will bring the planet and life on Earth to extinction because happy people are lazy people. Why should you work when you can swim all day, stay in the sun, and there will be food and everything you need appearing miraculously in your sight? Now, you will tell me Adam and Eve in the garden were happy without work. Yup, they were happy for a little bit, and then Eve got bored and attacked the apple, hoping to find more excitement. Because she was a good wife, she shared the joy with Adam. Only then did she realized she was living the Pura Vida! Adam accepted his fate and went to work, but Madame Eve, since then, is trotting around the globe, trying to reconstruct the bliss. When she finds a glimpse of it, she can make magic happen. Then is when she gets Adam under her charm and moves the mountains with her love and care. She gets him under a magic spell called to love and promises happiness and sunshine. They both live under that doom for a while until the kids show up, and they must get back to reality and start working hard for their happiness and their children's well-being.But again, this story has changed the course of life. Nowadays, families rarely end in the same formation: mom, dad, and kids! The norm today is single, mingle, and oopsie oopsie; there is a child nobody wants and gets bounced around between grandparents and the mom or dad, depending on who got custody. The custody thing "in modern society" usually evolves around who gets the child support and ends up for the poor child with a "I gave you food, shelter now get the hell out of my face" predicament.Dear God, I am returning to my outdated slogan: love your life, and don't look back! Embrace who you are, and if your life is hard, fight to make it better, but keep the spark alive inside your soul. Try to be good and respect the body and image God gave you. If you are here, there is a reason and a privilege. Cherish the experience, and when your time comes, close your eyes with a happy smile and think: "I lived la Pura Vida, and I am ready for my next experience. Thank you, Lord, for the trust and the guidance. I am grateful for everything you put in my way."Yours truly,Isa
