A man's love for his home state.
Indiana by Harry Craft
Rhyming Poem contest entry

Though I was not born

on this rich soil

this is the geography

where I learned to toil

Where the corn grows

Green and tall

and the leaves

turn brown in the fall

This is the land

where my heart wept

and the place

where my secrets are kept

Here the trees

gave me summer shade

and where my memories

have now begun to fade

This is where my mind grew

and in this wonderful place

  I found love

    when I found you

and you fit me like a glove

This is the place

where I ate my morning banana

with a smile on my face

and a dream of my precious Indiana
