Portrait of the Donor by Patty Mazzurco 75 Words Flash Fiction contest entry Artwork by avmurray at FanArtReview.com |
In the dusty corner of the thrift store, Lucy found a peculiar portrait of a woman with kind eyes and bought it for a dollar.
That night, the woman in the painting whispered dark secrets. Lucy returned to the store and discovered a ledger with names, including hers: “Owner: Lucy, donated 1985.” Her heart raced as the portrait’s eyes glowed red.
She screamed, but it was too late—she was pulled into the canvas.
