Watching the morning news I often am overcome with sadness Feeling the blues. At all the gloom and doom Dispair, hate and lies That sprew forth On my TV. I feel a sense Of infinite sadness Watching the badness All around me. Unfolding on the TV Watching the madness Infecting us all. I turn of the infernal noise machine Listening to music To sooth my soul. As i drink another Cup of snarling hot coffee Contemplating the day ahead. The sense of sadness Gradually being replaced By joy. As I look at the love of my life Who still mesmerizes me With her love Driving the blues away.
