A Spoon in the Sink by Bill Schott
Rhyming Poem contest entry

A sharp clanging sound last night

woke me from my reverie;

then through the wall an awesome sight,

my cousin's first wife, Beverly.

I thought, of course, 'I am asleep

and only dreamed that this occurred',

but then the woman's body creeped

as if to make herself unheard.

"You need to help your cousin, man,"

she said with stern look on her face.

"He's lost somewhere in Pakistan,

soon to be gone without a trace."

Next I heard a clanging sound,

and woke to find myself in bed;

no hole in wall nor woman found

just a pain inside my head.

I woke and woke throughout the night,

each time to face my cousin's wife;

it's better now though, almost right,

he's lost in Detroit -- but he has a knife.
