He was tall and happy, his greeting cordial.
"Hi, Honey."
There was little doubt who he was, but what was his name here?
"Are you the Duke or Marion?"
"Call me John, honey. Everyone does." he shook my hand.
"I'm Kate." I smiled shyly.
"Howdy Kate. Been here long?"
"About forty-eight hours, old time."
John laughed.
"Time is not so important here, Kate." he grinned
Wasn't it fun to be welcomed by Jesus?"
"Yes,"

I looked at him; clearly, he was good at reading minds. Either that or it was obvious I could not take it in that he was a giant.
"I think I am a tad taller than Jesus; after all, Jewish men in those times were not known for height or good looks. There again, He is more than the Carpenter here; He could be taller. I guess it does not matter."
I smiled, very much in awe of the man my Mum used to call my boyfriend, knowing I did not like him. Roger Moore, who became a Sir, if you don't mind, was a different story.
At least I knew John loved Jesus.
"I always wanted to meet you, John. I did not think you would be one of the first."
He laughed, slapping his knee.
"I'm honoured."
Let's have some wine, Kate." he said. "I will get it."
"Okay, sounds great."
I wondered if Jesus had just made it.

I took the proffered seat just near a makeshift stable
"Don't worry about old Schooner Kate. He is a mighty fine horse but a little jealous if I bring visitors."
Schooner did not cause trouble; perhaps he was asleep.
I looked at the house. If this was a mansion, wow! And a tiny garden!

John returned with two filled glasses, sitting opposite me.
"Here we go, a mighty fine vintage."
I looked at John, and the question must have been burning through my flesh.
"I don't know whether or not Jesus made this. He is still a teacher so that it could have been brewed by another's hand."
It did not matter; it was a fine shiraz.
"So, this is your little mansion, John."
"Yes, I love it. It is the only home I ever had that is neat and tidy apart from the movie set." He sipped his wine.
"Maureen would not have it any other way."
"You don't mean Maureen O'Hara?"
"Sure do, Kate, she's my next-door neighbour!" he smiled
"Speaking of whom the lady approaches." he looked towards her.
"Begorra!" Maureen greeted.
"This is Kate, darl."
"Hi, Kate."

Surely it is a dream, or the script says I should wake up now!

Author Notes
My mum was good at calling any bloke who came near me a boyfriend. There is a sentence in this story that is true. Most is based on Biblical images
