DREAMS CAN COME TRUE

At six fifty-seven this morning, Nov. 15, 2024 — mine did!

Forgive me if I sound a little giddy. I never thought this day would happen. My joy has always been in writing, but I never dared to believe I could publish my stories. Before they passed, I promised my mother and husband I would keep writing and reaching for that dream.

Today, thanks to the encouragement of my FanStory friends and my adorable "ghost" Eleanor, my dream has come true.

The first book in the series, "Unfinished Brushstrokes," was published on Amazon with Franklin Johnson and Kindle Publishing's help.

Synopsis — (For anyone who missed it or has forgotten)

After Eleanor Bennett's unexpected death, her dysfunctional family gathers for the reading of her will, only to uncover her secret life as a celebrated artist. But shock turns to dread with a chilling revelation—Eleanor's demise was murder.

A shadowy syndicate of international art thieves strikes, stealing priceless paintings, including one by a lover from Eleanor's past. His nephew, Dylan Weldon, teams up with FBI agent Garth Woodman to investigate the thefts and murder, discovering more than anyone imagined.

Jenna, a neighbor and close friend, unearths a surprising connection to Eleanor, and the investigation peels back layers of Eleanor's hidden past and dark secrets.

As Detective Matthew Donatelli and FBI Agent Woodman clash, they uncover a web of abductions, human trafficking, murder, and deceit. Eleanor's restless spirit aids their quest for justice, but simmering rivalries threaten their progress. In a race against time, shifting alliances and hidden secrets blur the line between coincidence and a sinister plot. Will they unravel the mystery before it's too late?

Inside the cover — Dedication

To our Father in Heaven, who blessed me with my imagination and the ability to use it creatively in writing. And for giving me the strength to recover from life's diversities and move forward.

To my beloved mother, whose love has always been my guiding light, and to my late husband, whose memory is the foundation of my promise and this book. Your love and support were the catalyst for every word written here.

To my son, Matthew, who follows his own dreams of writing screenplays, producing, and directing films, who found time to call me faithfully every day and listened to my thoughts and ideas about a book or story I was writing. Our shared love of putting "pen to paper" was a daily incentive to not give up.

To my incredible friends on FanStory, you are the true heroes of my efforts. I am thankful you came into my life and made me see the sun where I once saw dark clouds. My heart bursts with love because you believed in me so much, I started to believe in myself. Your unwavering encouragement helped me leave grief behind and find joy in writing again.

With deepest gratitude, please know that each page carries a smile, a hug, and love for you.

Always,

Begin Again

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

To Sandra, Karen, Lorraine, Helen, and Ric—how do I even find words of gratitude? You were always there through rough tears, uncertainty, and discouragement.

Kindle Direct Publishing Firm and Franklin Johnson, thank you for your patience in showing me the guidelines and assisting me in bringing my dream to life.

Every person who has crossed paths with me in my lifetime has left me with a small morsel to ponder and nurture until it blossomed into a seedling, a moment within my creativity, and became part of one of my writing efforts.

My teachers, especially in English, who recognized a quiet, withdrawn girl and urged her, ever so gently, to set herself free by writing.

Though my grandchildren and great-grandchildren find their interests in sports, media, and their own outlets of creativity, I hope that one day they will pull a book from the shelf, dust it off, proudly announce, "My Nana wrote this book," and think of me as they discover my world.

THANK YOU!
