The life of a dog is a life we all want to have,
To have and to hold, just feed me now,
You, my caretaker have rules,
Me, the boss ,also has rules. Where is dinner?
A dog's life from the perspective of a particular dog,
A dogautobiography, if you will,
The life of me, "Zoie", the one and the only,
Still living well in this new home with my entourage.
My past is a blur, once a puppy,
I don't think so, have been this size forever,
Time does not apply to me,
Don't have a watch, wouldn't know how to wind them.
Came out screaming, where are those teats,
Get out of my way, this one is mine,
Mine only, get your own, siblings, why are they here?
Fight, play, poop, pee, the world is my toilet.
These humans don't understand me,
I am a Great Pyrenees, from the Pyrenees mountains,
Who was the idiot that came up with that,
Sounds logical to me, I defend, will kill if needed.
My life changed, many false homes, tortured,
Abuse from small individuals, they wanted to be the boss,
I ran away, could jump any fence, found food,
The earth fed me, gave me water, cleaned me.
Lived in the forest as others do,
Not threatened, my size and demeanor protected me,
Missing something, not sure what it is?
Somebody to love me, secure me, play with me.
Here is a people, with some thing that smells good,
Now taking me inside, more food, rubbing my head,
I think I could like this, lay down, soft, comfort,
A new day, a new beginning, maybe a home.
I like it here, a bed, food early, then late.
Walks in the rain, wind, sun. attention to my needs,
This is a dog's life, give a little, get a lot in return,
My life now, where is dinner?
