*caught short* approximates to British slang *I*ve wet myself!*
I began by writing a story in rhyming couplets which met the brief. My thoughts quickly switched from me as a writer to me as a reviewer. Would I prefer to plough through an unnecessarily long offering which, after all, was meant to be humorous, or a brief jokey tickle? A roast dinner or an amuse-bouche? I scrapped the former, and substituted the latter: this humble offering. Did I make the correct decision? Your call.
