There is something intrinsically calm in a ball of yarn
Babies know it
Cats know it
I know it too...
The mundane and the meaningful undulating unbound
From a simple ball of yarn
A simple layer
Resounds abundance.
its weight on my body even in steamy nights
Its wool wraps peace across my palms
And molds into my bones
In a gentle and placid clasp
It bends to the solace of each embrace
How it dances to each of my breaths
Threads that cradle me in
Bonding to my core like an extra skin
or layer of skin ?
I like the way
it clasps the totality of who I am
It pauses me into the muffled moment
And cast dreams of pink spring
In wan winter nights.
And yet some people would say
it's just a piece of yarn!
