When Granny Skaggs saw Tommy Lee,
she did a double take.
She couldn't quite believe her eyes.
It seemed her heart might break.
This couldn't be her Samuel's son
with savage Mohawk do.
How could he change in just one year?
But if not Tommy, who?
He'd hugged and called her Granny Skaggs
and sat down by her side.
But how to act with this strange lad
had left her tongue quite tied.
He didn't look like anyone
with DNA she shared.
And certainly not her own grandson
for whom she was prepared.
He wore boots, a leather jacket,
and strangely colored hair,
but his blue eyes so filled with love
soon softened her cold stare.
"It shouldn't matter how you look.
What means the most to me,
my heart remembers who you are
and not what my eyes see."
