dark wings soar swiftly through air
hungry eyes searching
insects flee
death

Author Notes
Whippoorwills are common in the Eastern part of the United States. They are known for their endless chanting at dusk and dawn. And on moonlit nights they perch in the trees and swoop down now and then to scoop up insects with their large mouths.
