Variety enhances life
and nature shows us how it's done.
When marching just to drum and fife,
restrictions take out all the fun.
If all four seasons were the same,
the foliage would just stay green.
New England would then lose its fame,
except for Boston's best baked bean.
When summer's done, the leaves will change
to autumn's burnished tones of gold.
With winter well within his range,
he'll chill the air with blasts of cold.
Bare branches need not mourn too long,
as spring is waiting 'round the bend.
Soon birds will burst right into song,
as snow and ice come to their end.
From month to month the trees reflect
the palette our Creator chose.
To showcase greenery bedecked
in yellow, orange, pink and rose.
