Bravo! You did an excellent job capturing what we all feel as we get older and life opens up to it's true self, I too wish to be a kid again sometimes, safe in a cocoon. Well done.

Heart imagines life
beneath silver-sweet full moon
not out of cocoon << Interesting way to say "youth"

We all wish for it as we get older. Most folks, not all, have found memories of childhood.

Nicely done.

Wow. Anupam, this was really fantastic. And the message is so profound. Coming from a young boy like you makes it even better. It truly deserves the "All time best" award. Congrats!

I think I'm the same Indian you are talking about. Mine was the "Opposites attract" contest entry that you had reviewed. My name is Namratha. My husband and I stay in Bangalore.

Yes, now that the contest is over, I can reveal my identity. I lost by one vote, by the way.. :( Anyways, its the appreciation that counts, not winning/the prize.

Welcome to FanStory--I hope the site fulfills your goals for membership. I admired your "cocoon" metaphor and "moon" image along with the rhyme in this 5-7-5. Best wishes in the contest. -Joan

imagining life
in shining sweet full moon yet
not out of cocoon

a clever use of words, Anupam,
which ring true.

you are right - we do live in a cocoon when children,
protected from the outside world by our parents and
siblings. It's a rude awakening when we go out there.

Yeah, life very rarely turns out how we imagined as kids. When kids dream, once you grow up the world is just not the same. Sometimes progress is not a good thing. Thanks for sharing.

This was well thought through as you write of what all men and women soon find out as they face life head on. Childhood should be filled with the security and peace that comes from the adult world being at peace without and within, but for us there is a good dose of reality when we reach adulthood. Still, God is in control, even though sometimes we turn from His comfort. Thanks for such a thoughtful read.

So true my friend. No wonder this one reached all time best status. Nicely done. I really like your example of the cocoon. But there is another layer of cocoon still to break free of...this reality that we perceive with our senses!

Great poem. I'm an adult and I wish I could live in a cocoon. The artwork is great. I am still learning about different types of poetry and this is simply and beautiful.
