I think you have composed a fabulous nonet for the contest. I like your train metaphor and the idea of seizing the moment. Your form is spot on and you leave your readers with time to reflect.
I did watch the video you presented. I don't trust any Hollywood star and and doubt I've viewed any if his movies. Encouraging thoughts within, but "never be discouraged" is unrealistic...just read the psalms.
