this is a hell you didnt ask for. Its unfair. Most addictions and problems are self afflicted, but cancer no one would ask for that. A hell on earth

I wish I had a "6" left to give you, but if there are fair judges, your reward will be winning the contest. Because this is excellent! Powerful and moving! I'm glad it was written as a fiction for you, but for others it is their biography. You told it with humor, irony, and truth. It doesn't get much better than this!

Is this fictional or do you really have cancer/ If so, my prayers are there for you...to embrace the both gift of being present, now, in life and of transitioning to new life in another way, whenever that time arrives.

This is well written, though if this is a true story, it is not fiction!

No nits or spag. Great tone and pace. Strong theme in response to the topic.

Best of luck in the contest.

(( HUGS ))

Warm Regards,
rama devi

Ouch!
This reads like it's really happening. It isn't, is it? Please say no!

Fantastic flash fiction, Indy! So creepy, so frightening, and so very real.

Hi Shea! I've been very fortunate not to have this disease personally, but I sure have been touched by this horrible hell too many times. As always, thanks for reading and for your comments.

Morning, Kar
I sure pray this is 'Fiction' as you state.
Very ell written and hard-hiting hell mataphor/s

When your para started about the 'cell' I thought you were going to progress it to being born and hell starting - there's another theme for us more morose types! ;-)

Very creative, and let me know it's fiction, please.

Best wishes, Ray xx

Hi RayMan! Thank you, my friend, for your review on this flash fiction...and yes, it's a fiction. We all know someone who has gone through this hell on Earth, though. Thanks as always for your kind comments.

That's truly a hell. Thirty-six years ago my mother died of cancer. It wasn't ovarian, but as brave as she was, this piece of prose reflects they way she felt near the end. You've captured it very well in a very concise, meaningful way, Indy. Good luck!

Thank you, M, for your kind comments regarding this story. Cancer is such a hell and I'm sorry your Mom had to live through that horrible experience. Thanks for your best wishes.

It didn't take you many words to write a very meaningful story. I have a hard time writing anything under 1000 words and actually saying anything. Great job and good luck in the contest.

Well, you couldn't have chosen a more terrifying subject. I sure hope it's just fiction. Like that you left us in suspense - which isn't easy with flash fiction. She sure sounds ready to leave the suffering behind. Again, hope it's just a write - and all the best in the contest,
Heather

Thank you Raptured Heart for your great review for this story. Yes, this is fiction. The contest has all the entries listed as poetry, so I'm waiting for Tom to change it from poetry to prose so I can note that it's a fictional story.
    Thanks!
