Gerald we know him. I think there's a lot more in this than you revealed. He gets along well and does what he wants but wonders if a commitment might have saved him from a lot of pain or a different more wholesome life. Ok I could be way off but lately I wonder about what if a lot in the reverse of this. Except living in Detroit that's a stretch for country girl. No quarter? Tell me what that refers to.
Nice to meet you Reconciled!

This is cute, Michael. I enjoyed the read. I was wondering if you'd read my essay called My Friends at FanStory. It's not really long. Thanks, Kat
P.S. If you haven't seen it floating around you can find it at my profile.

Ciao, Michael,
I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. A bit different
from your recent ones. I liked it very much. My
fav lines are:
Enthralled
not because he survived
but because he thrived
May I offer a suggestion for you to consider?
soon after he[it] kicked his unfriendly ass
Michael, if the 'he' is referring to the "impossible' in the previous line, then you'd want to use 'it' rather than 'he'.
Well done,
RR

I thought the poem was perfect. I didn't activate the video. I never do activate them when I read poetry. The words in the lines are the music to me. but then again, I'm an old man. yeah, of course I still like ya. )

I liked reading about this Gerald Ranes. In fact, I could have
read more. I like the idea that he had no back plan but just
planned to wing it instead. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all
do that and be happy? Thanks for sharing. My best to you,
as always.

Nice photo choice to go with your poem. I'm impressed with the progression, rythm and flow which lends to a good read.
And, nice use of wording and video. Thanks for sharing, Deb

A good man as good men go is an interesting description. I think you could have written another stanza or two, but it's fine the way it is. Good imagery and use of language. Ray
