Gee, your words flow so gracefully together in this poem providing such an amazing picture in my mind. While my preference in poetry prefers rhyme, your word picture here more than satisfied. My mind created its own view. And that too added to a pleasurable read.

Thank you for your kind review.

That is lovely. And I learned something as that bird is new to me.
I have to admit I never thought of a bird radiating hope to find a mate. (radiating is probably the wrong word, but it's late and my vocab is shutting down :) Still an interesting poem and informative.

I so enjoy how this poem entertained and taught me. This unique bird came to life, and I could really envision it like a solitary one with that occasional flirty call to a male. And also the image of the other collection of birds, but this one is in her own world. Memorable.

What a beautiful poem! And you are the real expert on birds so I wish you were doing this project I took on. Thank you for sharing about this lovely black phoebe ! Like how you contrast her with the pigeons which I learned are really Smart! Virtual six!

A beautifully written work Christie, it is decidedly language rich, with highly descriptive and image bearing writing, I love the description of the various creatures festooning and weaving themselves in and out of the narrative, beautifully written, blessings Roy

I absolutely loved your poem The way you captured the phoebe's spirit and the promise of something more was just beautiful. I could see the black phoebe balancing on the wire - surrounded by the pigeons. This was such a joy to read - so well done!

What a lovely poem about a bird i have never heard of for some reason, which is odd because I love birds and try to learn to recognize them when they come to visit our feeders. Very nice free verse and your inspiration couldn't be a better one. Good luck in the contest. thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review. We used to have a bird feeder years ago, but I can't do that now due to having two cats around.
