A riveting story. Holds ones interest from start to finish. The writer gives very detailed account of the actions as they are happening. Great description to show the reader the story. Enjoyed very much.

I am American Indian, so I can relate to the story, we have legends too.
-
I wondered with your name. That's awesome - maybe you'll write about some of your legends? Take care, Bev

Actually, the poem, "What the Red Man said to the White" is in a book I have had published, might put it on FS later. Will probably put "The Wishing Stick" as well. Thanks SW

Oh, I look forward to reading that. There's lots of interest on the site for Native American themes, I think. Take care ... Bev

I'm always interested in stories dealing with shapeshifters. The characters are very well described. Kitch is brave to confront the Witch, and Hassun is evil incarnate plus the ability to shape-shift. You had a vivid image of the insects working to heal Hassun's wound. The ending was exciting with the voice of his father telling Alsoomse he had to go for the Witch's head and needed to go to rescue the child. In a great touch, the child turns out to be his sister. Excellent and six-star rating. judi

Thank you so much, judi. I really appreciate your generous and very thorough review. Shapeshifters, like doppelgangers have always interested me, too. I think I'll do something further on that theme another time. You are always so kind and supportive, my friend and I really appreciate it. Xxx Bev

Thanks much, Karyn. I really appreciate your great review and good luck wishes. Someone else mentioned my SPAG, so I'll go back and make sure the correction sticks this time. Take care ... Bev

What a wonderful story you related to us. The characters were wonderfully developed and it was with a wise word the time was right. Gosh girl, I could barely breathe as I read. It was so deep in descriptions.

This is quite a good story. Several times you caught me
a bit off guard. The first time was with the death of
Kitch - somehow I thought he would find a way to get
around the curse from Hassun. The last time was that the
girl on the travois was Chepi, Alsoomse's sister.
thanks for sharing
good luck in the contest
love,
jan

Hi, Bev. You have written quite a horror story. Too bad the boy's father had to die, though. This was written well. I noticed only one small word which you left out below:
observe the proof (of) your vile acts,
I enjoyed the story. :o)
