So very true (especially the learned, forgotten...part) Flows well. Excellent choice of artwork. I would recommend this poem to anyone. Good luck in the contest!

I am a culprit of speaking before I think and it has often landed me in a sticky situation. Callous is a good opener and along with the words in line two, it gave the poem I nice flow, since they all contain 's'.

It is not always easy to keep your tongue from hurtfull words. We usually hurt the ones closest to us, when we can't control our spoken words.

So true, sometimes people light that fire within you and some people can say or do anything and you don't mind. But it's taking that moment to think before you speak and cause more problems.

Interesting senryu about hurtful words. I get what you're saying. Thinking before you speak is good advice. Good job with the syllable count.

Nice senryu poem. You have kept the syllable count but more importantly, the human emotion associated with the work is something seen or experienced daily. More people should read this and act accordingly. Good Luck in the contest.

Think before speaking are some words most of us could be reminded of (maybe again and again.). Very good word choice here to show how hurtful words that slip out can be. Good luck in the contest with this good entry.
