Watch a Fred Astaire movie today. Well put together as a poem wonderful memories from the past. Enjoyed all the way through, a great story in a poem.

-Nice image and presentation, Willie.
-I appreciate your notes and liked your poem.
-I like how each verse begins with people
or characters from the decade.
-Effective imagery and rhyme describes them in each verse,
showing what things were like, like only costing a dime,
and the news reels. I was very young, but remember those
and the opening cartoons, as well as the movie reels.
-A very good closing verse.
-One small thing; your font is very light.
You could try bold facing it.
-Good luck in the contest; a good entry.

What a lovely poem. I remember those days. Except when I went it was a quarter. Then by the time I graduated high school it was a dollar. the only critique I have is in the 5th stanza uncapitalize the word and. Nicely done.

Of course these are all the things from my childhood onwards too, I remember them well, along with Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy and Gene Autry and I love Lucy, they were household names, beautifully written Willie, blessings Roy

This poem brought back many memories for me. The author's words
are uplifting, interesting and fun! The author did an excellent job in
remembering the heroes, stars and great show when he was young. The
poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and compliments
both the theme and words of this poem. Great Poem!

This is a change from your Western theme poems that you write so well. And I still see a hint of Western tales and heroes.
It was fun to go out on the town with friends back when and over yonder.
Thanks for this gallop down movie memory lane. A lovely read.

You did a great job with your contest entry, Willie.
I enjoyed reading it. I liked the many movies/people
you referred to. That set a great tone for your poem.
The rhymes worked well and there was smooth flow.
I believe those movies and stars were one of a kind.
My tiny suggestion would be to use a bold font--this one
is very faint.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

What fun memories you have and how creatively you presented them. I remember the 50's with pleasure also. Before the 60's began, I had graduated from college, got married, started teaching school, and had a baby!

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. Yes, back in the day was much better. Actors actually acted and had morals. We had discontinued with TV and going to movies because of all the trash today. I enjoyed reading your well written poem.

Ciao !
I enjoyed your poem because I am a big fan of B&W hence I recognised several actors of the past that you mentioned even though I am European.
Most American films are dubbed so when I got my first PC in 2010
I heard for the first time the true voices .. very odd experience.
PS: suggestion ... you should use the advanced editor and make the print black ..
it's greyish now and not very clear on the light blue back ground.
