Beautiful work! I love the muted picture you chose accompanying your beautiful words. I especially love your last stanza and the reminders to take shorter strides and to pray for those who are less fortunate in this life. We miss so much when we are in a hurry.

A beautifully written Villanelle poem. You took the reader along the shoreline with you watching the seagulls fly on that gentle breeze. Beautiful imagery and thoughtful prayer.

Don't you have to wonder who and why such forms of poetry survive. I mean, why out of nowhere did the person arrive and syllablizing with the idea why not try aba aba aba aba aba abaa? Was his name Villanelle? was there a warrant for them? Okay, as to your effort. Bravo Zulu.
