I appreciate that! Thank you very much.

Sounds a bit risky to me, lol! Anyone can say anything and appear so charming! But it makes for a good quick story - and leaves the reader wondering! Well done. best wishes for the contest.

I think to every writer who knows the value of language and specific words, phrases, we know the sheer power of words to cajole, challenge and inspire, this is why this is a good entry, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Are you ever right! (write?...) Words carry enormous weight and power. It's important to pause many, many times before unleashing them into the world.

Absolutely

Did the protagonist hit "send," or "delete?" "Send" could produce some really good results. Not everyone on dating sites is bad. I know of two cases that led to marriage. Great short story. Best wishes in the contest.

Actually, I do, too! But I also have friends with horror stories...well, not the "and then he brought out a knife" kind or anything. More like the "He had the worst table manners ever" variety or "He said he was 5'8", but that would only have been the case if he were on the fourth rung of a ladder."

Haha! The worse I heard of was a coworker whose date took her to the McDonalds parking lot and wanted to talk. She became upset when he tried to kiss her so he took her home without even getting her a burger.
-
Oh, geez!! That guy needs to learn blind dating etiquette. Burger first, THEN a kiss!! (Maybe he was afraid if he waited until afterward, her breath would be too onion-y to want to go in for the kiss...)

Sometimes when we get to the end of writing certain subjects, we have second thoughts. There have been some people who have hit the wrong button. Then it is too late. You have to be careful before selecting send. It happens. And you do your best to explain to the other person. Thank you for sharing this awareness.

It's true. It can be a tightrope some days.

You presented your contest entry well, Mystery Author.
The image is perfect. I liked the formatting of the lines--
the bold font. I liked the description of the women/man who
also has brains to go along with her/his appearance. I believe
she'/he's on a dating app and hoping s/he made the right choice.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

It is not always easy to write a complete story in fifty words, but you have accomplished it. I like your short story. The beginning grabbed my attention and I loved the ending. best of luck in the contest.

Great response to the prompt. Very seductive in a classy way and quite steamy. Well-written flash fiction. Hope all is going well with you after your weekend.

Thanks for the very nice review! I appreciate the vote of confidence. I do have a thing for flash (fiction).

I liked this post. It showed the trepidation of the sender and their fear of how it would be received. I wondered if it were a man or woman sending it, and how deep the words were about physical appearance or seduction of the mind. Quite an interesting piece. Good luck in the contest.

The lady or the tiger??? I like the way you left the ending, even though of course I am curious. You did a great job setting up the situation. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.
