The Golden Needle and Silver Thread is the love and care we show, when we display unselfish love and concern for the welfare of our fellow man. When we pray for his soul and forgiveness not just for our sins, but his as well. Unselfish love, care and concern will fix much of what is wrong in our world today. Very well written and conceived poem.

I enjoyed this verse very much as it explores your faith.

You have done a great job with the prompt, very creative. You have a wonderful imagination.

The repeated refrain makes this read almost as a lyrical verse, with a soothing tempo.

I appreciate the presentation as it mirrors the sentiment.

Good luck in the contest.

An interesting poem. The images are clear. The metaphor is carried out throughout the poem. The language is warm and conversational. The flow is good. The repeated refrain works well to bind the whole together.

Thanks for a good read.

Oh what a lovely way to describe how we Christians help others and serve others and also how God helps and serves us. How often he has fixed my tatters and holes and then showed me to help others. I love the repitition in your poem too. It rocks my soul into comfort.

This is a wonderful entry for the contest. I enjoyed reading this very much. This poem touched my heart and soul. I love the metaphors you used. I especially like the phrase the fabric of man's soul's has been torn. This phrase defiantly a metaphor for the times. Well done and good luck in the contest.

You know what struck me about this poem? It was all laid on God or his responsibility to fix things. You were responsible for the "sewing and binding". God gives us the tools and it's up to us to use them. Beautiful poem of faith. Gretchen

I see this wonderful poem as an allagory of what God really has given us. He gave us His love to share with the world. If only more Christians would take up the needle and thread of God's love then I believe the hurts of life would certainly mend. Your poem is beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this.

God does equip us to serve Him by helping the hurting among humankind. I liked the sewing metaphor for the helping to heal human souls with love, especially "shaping and softening every stitch called for " Best wishes in the contest!
