Oh, your writing is very enticing! Free verse works beautifully here...and it does seem that we are all intent on looking to see what is just over the next hill, or beyond the next copse of trees! (Sometimes we're so intent on what is to come, we miss what is right before us!)

"Overhead the broken clouds slowly
loosen the blanket of yesterday's
heat..."

Wow. I could sit and ponder the beauty of that line for hours!

You have portrayed not just a beautiful landscape filled with pleasures for all our senses, but you welcome us to share in the stirrings of your soul. Wonderful verse.

This is a lovely poem, as you take your reader for a walk with you on a summer day. My favorite stanza is the second one. You really brought out all the tools of the poet for this one.

This free verse, Seasons of Nature III, describes an almost hallowed place where the world, as it is known as a trial, falls away, and the miracle of the lake begins.

A lovely poem with very vivid and lyrical imagery, such that I could have been present in the scene. Beautifully written in free form, which suited your words.

Another fine entry into the NaPo contest here, J. You have written a sublime pastoral that engages a bouquet of senses.

Just one small typo here: My nostrils flair. (flare)

Wishing you all the best in the continuation of National Poetry Month.

Oh JLR This sound delightful and enticing, I bet you have had many swims in this lake. Summer is my favourite season, so i can sunbake and warm up my soul (and even swim in my small backyard pool.

Your free verse was tidy and flowed well, and made your lake sound lovely
Cheers Chris

Lovely poem rejoicing in the summer's weather and scents. I especially liked how you describe how the longer longer summer days "make time come to a complete stop."

Beautiful poem for your book, once again. I love the summer day you have depicted here. All I need is southern sweet tea or an ice cold glass of lemonade.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sal :)) xo
