Free Verse of Length
Poetry Contest
This is a free verse contest. Free verse can contain rhyme, even a great deal of rhyme, however, it should not be in a discernible pattern. A formal meter is not required, but any good poetry flows and is easy to read.
Your poem is to be at least thirty lines in length. Your individual lines may be any length and laid out on the page in any fashion.
Your choice of font and colour are entirely up to you. Display and how the reader's eye is drawn across the page can often make a difference in the impact of your piece. Display DOES matter or they wouldn't frame pictures. :))
There are no restrictions on bells and whistles. Music, waterfalls, Morgan Freeman recitatives, etc. are all acceptable.
No formal poetry ie poetry that is structured like a sonnet or quatrains in a recognizable and uniform layout.
Don't write prose and this is NOT a prose poem.
Ten bucks so there's a little sumthin' to divvy up. :))
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 170.00 member dollars. There are only 1 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 180.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Sunday, June 11, 2017.
