Worth more than a bone ...

My dog had been trained to chew his delicious liver-dipped bones on the grass; so he always did just that.
He'd selected his treat today at the pet shop, and was desperate to enjoy it.
But he preferred being with me!
Today was rainy. He nibbled on his bone, then rushed inside, multiple times, to be near me.
I towelled him dry, also multiple times!
Finally I capitulated. I sat shivering on the back veranda on this cold winter's day, watching him enjoy his delicacy, by my side.
If I'm worth more than a liver-dipped bone, he deserves my company.
