Last Year's Christmas

by DragonSkulls

Unlike reunions that have passed,
I came with gifts and cheer.
Enough to cover everyone
through Amazon last year.

I brought a gift for all who came,
each relative I had.
And not a one was skipped or missed,
no mother, child nor dad.

I got my pop a big TV
and sound bar for his cave.
My mother loved the Persian rug
and cookware that I gave.

Uncle Bob, he craves the snow,
he got a set of skis.
A laptop for his poet wife,
to share her expertise.

PlayStation 5 for nephew Bret,
a tablet for my niece.
A camera for my cousin's art
who films a world at peace.

My auntie loves her spice and blends,
espressos piping hot.
Her new machine would fill the needs
her coffee pot could not.

A drone for sister Brenda's kid,
a watch for husband Bill.
A necklace made of gold for Sis,
that shows her how I feel.

Each boy and girl felt joy that night,
how precious each gift shined.
I'm sure they'll all recall just how
last Christmas was defined.

With endless gifts and family bonds
so freely shared by me.
Each present held a special place
but some might disagree.

The gifts received were bargain priced,
a cost I couldn't beat.
In richest of the neighborhoods
I'd park along the street.

The drivers of the UPS
ne'er saw me when they passed,
delivering sweet packages
to homes of upper classed.

Porch pirate is the label cast,
a title I don't fret.
Again my family will rejoice.
A week 'til Christmas yet.
