Gone Missing

This morning, I started a head-count

of chapters so far in my book.

I don’t know what prompted me to it,

though glad I decided to look -

‘cos chapter fourteen has gone missing!

I haven’t a clue where it went.

I can’t even think what it looked like.

My mem’ry is shattered and spent.

I feel like an overwhelmed mother

who’s taken her eye off the ball

and one of her mischievous children

is hiding, won’t come to her call.

I’m having to write a replacement.

This verse you’re now reading is ‘it’

and whilst it is evenly metered,

the rhyming and content are poor!

How frustrating it was to realise that I am even further behind than I thought! I do not even know how I managed to miss out a chapter when the numbers are auto-generated... grrr!
