My Memory Tree

Most ornaments hung on our tree,
contain a Christmas memory.
The homemade ones are so much fun,
made with such care by little ones.

A tinfoil ball shining bright,
popsicle stick trees, such delight!
And picture frames made from jar lids
hold photos of my little kids.

Our store-bought bulbs are all quite nice,
but I don't think about them twice.
A poorly painted Santa's face,
within my heart, it holds a place.

They bring back memories long past,
it's funny how time goes so fast.
Hanging their artwork on the tree
brings many loving thoughts to me.

I'm sure most trees hold treasures dear,
mementos cherished year from year.
A special Christmas time for me,
to see ours placed upon the tree.

My granddaughter will make one too,
can't wait to see what she will do.
It will be placed with loving care,
each Christmas she will find it there.
